History

Halsell Cemetery is a remnant of the vanished town of Halsell in western Clay County, established about 1900 and named for rancher Harry H. Halsell. When Lake Arrowhead was built in 1965 the townsite was flooded, and roughly 125 burials were disinterred and reinterred at other cemeteries in the county.
