History

Deer Creek Cemetery serves the community of Deer Creek, named for a nearby stream, in southern Clay County about fifteen miles southwest of Henrietta. The area was settled shortly after 1900, and by the 1940s the community supported two churches, a school, and roughly two dozen residents.
