History
The John R. Brown House at 509 North Church Street was built about 1905 for local businessman John R. Brown and is regarded as one of McKinney's best illustrations of an early-twentieth-century house, displaying some Classical Revival detailing. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 8, 1987, as part of the Historic Resources of McKinney.
