History

The John C. Rhea House at 801 North College Street is considered one of the most outstanding late-nineteenth-century dwellings in McKinney, a Queen Anne home built about 1890 with Eastlake-style detailing in its wraparound veranda, ornamental woodwork, and sunburst panels. Associated with the Rhea family, whose members founded the Collin County community of Rhea Mills, the house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places under the Historic Resources of McKinney.
