History

The Collin County History Museum in downtown McKinney is housed in the beautifully preserved 1911 McKinney post office building at 300 East Virginia Street. Dedicated to preserving the history of Collin County, it functions largely as an archival museum, holding artifacts, photographs, documents, diaries, maps, and land records used by genealogists, historians, and students. Admission is free during its Friday and Saturday hours.
