History

The Heritage Farmstead Museum, also known as the Farrell-Wilson or Ammie Wilson House, centers on a late-Victorian farmhouse built in 1891 at 1900 West 15th Street in Plano on a 365-acre farm owned by Mary Alice and Hunter Farrell. Their daughter Ammie later ran the farm and became an award-winning livestock breeder before her death in 1972. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and opened as a living-history museum interpreting the Blackland Prairie in 1986, today spanning about four acres with roughly 15 historic structures.
