This McKinney site marks the law office of James Webb Throckmorton, governor of Texas from 1866 to 1867, who gave up a successful Collin County medical practice to join the law firm of R. De Armond and Thomas Jefferson Branch. The site was recorded as a Texas Historic Landmark in 1966.
