The Chicago School began in 1979, when a nonprofit foundation opened a small graduate school in Chicago devoted to the practical, professional side of psychology; it later added campuses in Southern California and Washington, D.C. In March 2018 the school announced a North Texas campus, which opened that fall in Richardson with programs in applied behavior analysis, industrial-organizational psychology and organizational leadership. The campus has since grown to nine programs from certificates through doctorates, including an APA-accredited Clinical Psychology degree, and has graduated more than 1,600 alumni. It later moved into a new 19,000-square-foot home on West Plano Parkway in Plano, and like all of The Chicago School's locations it is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission.
