History
The Prairie Edge Museum in Eagle Lake, established in 1983, is a volunteer-run local-history museum in an adaptively reused former auto dealership beside the historic Eagle Lake railroad depot. Its collections cover Native American culture, agriculture, ranching, railroads, military, and pioneer life in Colorado County, an area transformed after Captain William Dunovant planted an experimental 40-acre rice crop in 1898.
