History
Built about 1875 in the Oakland community, the Strunk-Woolsey House is an example of the early Texas open-hall or breezeway ('dogtrot') style of construction. It was the home of John Monroe Woolsey during his term representing Colorado County in the 20th Legislature. The house was later listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and a state marker was placed in 1962.
