History

Shepard Memorial Cemetery is a historically African American burial ground serving the Glidden community, a railroad settlement just west of Columbus in Colorado County. It is one of more than 130 cemeteries and burial sites in the county documented through the survey work of the late Bill Stein and volunteers at the Nesbitt Memorial Library in Columbus.
