History
The Concho County Courthouse in Paint Rock, built in 1886, was designed in the Second Empire style by architect F. E. Ruffini, who also planned the University of Texas's first main building. Ruffini died soon after drawing the plans, and his brother Oscar completed the project, which is unusual for its use of locally quarried rusticated stone. It is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
