History
Built about 1885 at 327 South Dixon Street in one of Gainesville's most affluent early neighborhoods, this two-story wood-frame house retains Victorian Italianate detailing including a low-pitched roof, off-center cupola, and heavy bracketed eaves. A 1902-1908 renovation added Classical elements such as a pedimented portico and Ionic capitals. Originally the town residence of rancher Ike Cloud, it passed by 1906 to Harlen and Katie Stark. It was recorded as a Texas Historic Landmark in 1968 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
