History
The Ben and Aggie Fette Seyler Muenster Museum preserves the heritage of Muenster, a German-Catholic colony founded in 1889 when the Flusche brothers contracted to sell some 22,000 acres in western Cooke County to attract German settlers. When the first families arrived that November they celebrated their first Mass together and soon built a permanent church and school. The museum displays church and school books, many in German, and other artifacts documenting the town's Catholic faith and enduring German culture.
