History
Lorenzo Cemetery dates to the founding of Lorenzo, a Crosby County town platted in 1910 by the C. B. Livestock Company along a planned rail line from Crosbyton to Lubbock and named for company attorney Lorenzo Dow. In 1916 the company deeded land at this site to the county for a community cemetery; the first burial that year was reportedly a child who died of whooping cough, and the oldest marked grave, dating to 1918, is that of W. A. Greenhill. A cemetery association and local volunteers have long maintained the grounds, which the county sold to the City of Lorenzo in 1995.
