History
The George C. Greer House at 5439 Swiss Avenue was designed by Dallas architect Hal (Henry B.) Thomson and built around 1914-1916 for George C. Greer, an attorney and president of the Magnolia Petroleum Company, which later became Mobil Oil. Its elaborate Italian Renaissance detailing, combined with Georgian Revival elements, distinguishes it from neighboring Swiss Avenue houses. It was listed on the National Register in January 1997.
