History

The Irving Archives and Museum opened its 22,000-square-foot facility in February 2020, funded by hotel-occupancy-tax revenue and donations from local heritage groups. Its exhibits explore the history and evolving culture of Irving, and it houses Texas's first Smithsonian Spark!Lab. The museum also operates two historic sites, the Ruth Paine House Museum and the Jackie Townsell Bear Creek Visitor Center.
