History
This marker honors Nancy Shows, remembered in local histories as the first recorded burial in Hebron Cemetery in rural DeWitt County. She is said to have been the wife of a man hired to build the community's Hebron Church, and her grave marks the beginnings of the pioneer burial ground that served the Hebron settlement.
