History

Eastland City Cemetery has served the town of Eastland for well over a century and is estimated to hold about 4,000 graves, plus roughly 500 marked only by fieldstones. Near the entrance stands a memorial to Capt. William Mosby Eastland, the Texas Revolution soldier for whom the county, town, and cemetery are named. The grounds also include a veterans memorial with a stone for each of the nation's wars, engraved with the names of local servicemembers buried or memorialized there.
