History
The State National Bank Building in downtown El Paso was begun in 1921 and opened in January 1922, designed by Henry C. Trost of Trost & Trost as an outstanding example of Second Renaissance Revival classicism. It rose on the site of the bank's 1881 building, remembered as one of El Paso's first substantial masonry structures, for a bank organized that year by Bassett and Morehead. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places among the Trost commercial structures of El Paso.
