History
The El Paso Museum of History interprets some 400 years of history along the U.S.-Mexico border region from its downtown El Paso location. It began as a Cavalry Museum in 1974, was renamed the El Paso Museum of History in 1980, and moved into a new building at 510 North Santa Fe Street that opened on June 16, 2007, credited with helping rejuvenate downtown. The city-run museum offers free admission and more than 16,000 square feet of exhibition space, and is home to 'Digie,' a large interactive digital wall of touchscreens that opened in 2015 to present the region's history.
