History
The John Solon House is a historic Waxahachie residence dating to about 1894, from the height of the town's Victorian building boom. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 as part of the 'Historic Resources of Waxahachie' multiple property submission. The house sits among the many surviving nineteenth-century homes that earned Waxahachie its reputation as the 'Gingerbread City' for its elaborate millwork.
