History
The Ferris School (Ferris Ward School) was built about 1911 as Waxahachie expanded westward in the decades around 1900 and grew its public-school system. One of several early Waxahachie schoolhouses recognized for their historic significance, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the town's documented historic resources.
