History

The Becker Cemetery is a small, often overgrown burial ground on private property about four miles south of Round Top on FM 1457 near Wolff Road. Reflecting the German settlement of the Round Top area, it has been recorded under several names—Sutton, Fricke, Becker, and Bell—and contains twenty-three legible stones plus roughly two dozen unmarked graves. Its oldest marked grave is that of six-year-old Mary Etzel, who died in 1853.
