History

The Floyd County Historical Museum in Floydada is housed in a 1912 hardware store. Its exhibits cover early Floyd County pioneers and include a replica of the Thomas Montgomery ranch house and artifacts from what is described as the only recognized campsite of the Coronado expedition in Texas. The museum also maintains a genealogy and local-history research library.
