History
Frank Davison, who came to the young town of Texas City as resident manager of the Texas City Improvement Company, completed this two-story Victorian Gothic towered villa of cypress in 1897. A leading civic pioneer, Davison served as city commissioner, postmaster, school trustee and bank director, opened the town's first store, and his home is said to have sheltered the first child born in Texas City. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 29, 1976, and now stands in the town's Heritage Square Park.
