History
Jesse Kincheloe Davis (1802-1869) was a Kentucky-born settler who received land in DeWitt's Colony and fought at the Battle of San Jacinto. He died at Gonzales in 1869 and is buried in the city's Masonic Cemetery, where a state marker honors him.
