History

Freedom Museum USA in Pampa honors American military service members and is housed in a 1939 water pumping station built by the Public Works Administration in Memorial Park. Begun in 1986 by a Pampa Army Airfield reunion group and later joined by a VFW post, the museum opened in 1994 and displays memorabilia spanning from the Civil War to recent Middle East conflicts. Outdoor exhibits include a B-25 bomber representing the aircraft trained at the Pampa Army Air Field, the same type flown by the Doolittle Raiders.
