History
Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, Gray County, began in 1904 with the burial of C. B. Dobbs, who at his own request was laid to rest on the highest hill in the young townsite before the land had even been formally surveyed. The Fairview Cemetery Association organized in 1908 in the White Deer Land Company office, and the grounds have since grown to more than 30 acres and over 5,000 graves. A Historic Texas Cemetery marker was awarded during its 2004 centennial.
