History

The Perrin Field Historical Society preserves the history of Perrin Army Airfield and Perrin Air Force Base, a Grayson County installation that operated from 1941 to 1971 and trained tens of thousands of American and Allied pilots and crews. Its museum in Denison displays thousands of military artifacts spanning American conflicts from the Revolution through the War on Terror, including a Cessna T-37 jet and an F-86L Sabre. Admission is free, with docent-led and self-guided tours.
