History

The Red River Railroad Museum in downtown Denison interprets the history of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (Katy) Railroad and its central role in the founding and growth of Denison. Started in 1987 by a group of former Katy employees and railroad enthusiasts associated with the Katy Railroad Historical Society, the museum is housed in the restored historic Katy Depot. Its collections document how the railroad's arrival transformed Denison into a bustling hub of commerce.
