History

McDonald Cemetery is a historic rural burial ground in southwestern Grayson County, situated between Van Alstyne and Gunter off State Highway 121. Its graves date back to the 1800s and include members of the McDonald, Michael, Hunt, and Hankins families who settled the surrounding farmland. It is among the many pioneer family and community cemeteries recorded across the county.
