History

Greenwood Cemetery lies a couple of miles southeast of Bells in eastern Grayson County and is also known locally as Jenkins Cemetery, after the farm through which it was historically reached. It memorializes many of the earliest settlers of the Bells area, whose pioneer families moved into the Grayson and Fannin county borderlands in the mid-19th century. The cemetery remains a quiet marker of that early settlement.
