History

Located in the historic Pilot Grove settlement of eastern Grayson County near Corner Creek, this is one of several old burial grounds associated with the community. Pilot Grove was established in the early 1850s and became notorious as the center of the Lee-Peacock feud, a bloody Reconstruction-era vendetta that raged from about 1867 to 1871. The town's Old and New Pilot Grove cemeteries preserve the graves of the district's early settler families.
