History
Dr. Benjamin Briggs Goodrich, a Virginia-born physician and a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence in 1836, built this Palladian Greek Revival house in Anderson about 1850. It stands on "New York Row," one of three such mid-19th-century residences, and Goodrich shared it with his wife Serena and their nine children. During the Civil War he served as a corporal in Hood's Texas Brigade.
