History

This is the west section of Blue Ridge Cemetery, which is tied to the Blue Ridge Baptist Church — once the largest Baptist congregation in Hamilton County, founded in 1880 by the Richey, Grisham, and Stephens families. On August 28, 1915, John Hannah Brown deeded a tract to the public for one dollar to be used as a burial ground. After the church disbanded in 2003, the Blue Ridge Cemetery Association was formed to maintain the grounds.
