History

Blue Ridge Cemetery is tied to the Blue Ridge Baptist Church, once the largest Baptist congregation in Hamilton County, founded in 1880 by the Richey, Grisham, and Stephens families. On August 28, 1915, John Hannah Brown deeded a tract to the public for one dollar to be used as a burial ground. After the church disbanded in 2003, the Blue Ridge Cemetery Association was formed to maintain the grounds, which today hold more than a century of local history.
