History

Bethel Cemetery adjoins Bethel United Methodist Church in southeastern Hamilton County, east of Aleman toward the Coryell County line. The Methodist congregation built its first meetinghouse near the site in 1872; that structure was destroyed in an 1892 storm, a second was raised north of the cemetery, and the present sanctuary was completed in 1924.
