History
The J. J. Carroll House at 16 Courtlandt Place is a Neoclassical residence built in 1912 in one of Houston's earliest elite subdivisions, a one-block tree-lined boulevard developed in the early 1900s. Mr. Carroll expanded the house with an addition in 1924. It is a contributing building in the Courtlandt Place Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
