History

The W. T. Carter, Jr. House at 18 Courtlandt Place was built in 1912 and designed by architect Birdsall Briscoe with Olle J. Lorehn. It was one of several homes on the boulevard associated with the family of lumber magnate W. T. Carter. The house is a contributing building in the Courtlandt Place Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
