History
The Judson L. Taylor House stands in Houston's Westmoreland neighborhood, platted in 1902 as the Westmoreland Addition by the South End Land Company and planned by St. Louis engineer Julius Pitzman as the city's first exclusive 'private place' subdivision. Westmoreland attracted grand Late Victorian and early-twentieth-century homes just southwest of downtown Houston. The Taylor House is among the district's residences recognized on the National Register of Historic Places.
