History
Mimosa Hall near Leigh was built between 1840 and 1844 by architect John J. Webster and is regarded as the first brick house in Harrison County. The two-story Greek Revival plantation home has a symmetrical five-bay facade and a pedimented two-story portico supported by cypress columns, and once anchored a cotton plantation of several thousand acres. It remained in the Webster family until 1984 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
