History
Locust Grove is an antebellum plantation house built in 1849 by Alpheus Wright, who had settled in Harrison County from Kentucky in 1847. It is a two-story frame Greek Revival I-house with an attached double portico, and is considered the oldest house in the Jonesville community; surviving outbuildings have included a slave cabin, gin, and barn. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and has remained in the founding family's descendants.
