History

This lone grave on the Wenger Ranch outside Wimberley holds a child of the Stockman family, an eight-year-old girl who died while her family briefly lived on the land that later became the Adare Ranch. Local tradition recorded by the Hays County Historical Commission holds that the burial was already there when William "Bill" Adare acquired the property shortly after the Civil War. The grave lies about a half mile above the small Adare family cemetery on the same ranch.
