History

The City of Alamo Museum, also known as the Maria del Pilar Garza Museum, was organized after a museum committee formed in the fall of 2015 in Alamo, a Hidalgo County town not to be confused with the Alamo in San Antonio. Permanent exhibits include a 1940s truck-and-train accident, the Karankawa Resurgence, Alamo pioneers, and the city fire department, along with collections ranging from 1920s dress to WWII and Vietnam objects.
