History

Old Zion Cemetery takes its name from the Old Zion Church that once stood nearby in the Kennard vicinity of Houston County. The cemetery holds about 250 marked graves, among them veterans of the Civil War and both World Wars. A Texas Historical Commission marker was placed at the site in 2000.
