History

Highland Park Cemetery in Borger, one of the city's two cemeteries, was established in 1926 as the Texas Panhandle oil town boomed. The perpetual-care grounds on Sterling Street now hold some 6,700 burials and are still operated by a family-owned monument and cemetery company.
