It holds members of the family of John McGaffey, the founder of Sabine, including his son Neal McGaffey Jr., along with several Confederate veterans. Battered by Hurricanes Rita in 2005 and Ike in 2008, the small cemetery has since been the focus of restoration work, and its records are preserved by the Jefferson County Historical Commission.
