History

This small, unnamed burial ground sits on the Laureles division of the historic King Ranch in northeastern Kleberg County. It is one of the ranch's Kineno cemeteries, where the vaqueros and their families who lived and worked on the King Ranch for generations were laid to rest. The Laureles was one of the ranch's four historic divisions, and its worker cemetery reflects the long, multigenerational ties between the Kineno families and the ranch.
