History

The Sand Crawl Museum shares a repurposed hardware-and-lumber store with the Olton Area Library and documents the farming and ranching history of Olton and Lamb County. Renamed in 1996 from 'The Olton Museum' for the nearby sand-dune formations, it features murals and outdoor exhibits including windmills, farm equipment, a half-dugout house, and a Quanah Parker Trail arrow marker. The sand crawl itself is a relic remnant of the upper Pleistocene Brazos River.
